Terms of service
Last updated 28 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and DigitalHope Limited for the use of StoryMint. By using the app you accept them. If you do not, please do not use StoryMint.
Nothing here takes away rights you have under UK consumer law. Where these terms and your statutory rights disagree, your statutory rights win.
Who we are
StoryMint is published by DigitalHope Limited, a company registered in Northern Ireland, company number NI735522, registered office 34 High Trees Drive, Donaghadee, Northern Ireland, BT21 0GQ. Contact us at richiehope1408@gmail.com.
Using StoryMint
You need to be at least 13. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission, and they accept these terms with you.
You may use StoryMint for your own purposes, personal or commercial. You are responsible for what you make with it and for what you do with it afterwards.
You must not:
- Use StoryMint to make anything unlawful, or anything that harasses, defames or threatens someone.
- Generate sexual content involving children, or any other content that is illegal to create or hold.
- Create a realistic likeness of a real person in order to deceive, impersonate, defraud or humiliate them.
- Present AI-generated images or video as a genuine record of something that happened, where that would mislead someone to their detriment.
- Infringe someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Try to defeat the safety filters, reverse-engineer the app, hammer our servers, or use StoryMint to build a competing model or dataset.
- Share, sell or transfer your account or your credits.
If you break these rules we may suspend or close your account. Where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.
An account created with “Continue without an account” belongs to that device’s session. If you lose access to the device without having attached an email address or Apple ID, we may not be able to recover the account or its credits — attaching one takes a moment and is worth doing.
Credits, plans and payment
Every purchase goes through Apple. We never see your payment details. Your App Store account is charged, and Apple’s terms govern the transaction itself.
The free allowance. New accounts get five image generations. It is a one-off allowance, not a monthly one, and no payment details are needed to use it.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, at the price shown at purchase. Cancel any time from Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions on your device, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
How credits work:
- A generation costs credits before it runs. If it fails, the credit is returned automatically. You are never charged for something you did not receive.
- A monthly plan’s allowance resets each month. Unused credits from that allowance do not roll over.
- A yearly plan grants the whole period’s credits when it starts, and they stay on your balance until you spend them.
- Credit packs are one-off purchases. Those credits do not expire and are not affected when a plan renews.
- If you cancel, you keep whatever credits are already on your balance. Cancelling stops the renewal; it does not take back what you have paid for.
- Credits have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred between accounts.
- Importing your own photos, and every editing tool, cost nothing.
Prices shown in the app are set per country by Apple and include VAT where it applies. If we change a subscription price, Apple will tell you in advance and ask you to agree before the new price is charged.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. This does not affect your statutory rights: if the service is faulty or not as described, tell us and we will put it right.
What you make
As between you and us, what you generate is yours. We claim no ownership of your prompts, your brand profile, or the images and videos StoryMint produces for you.
You grant us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, process it through our providers, and show it back to you. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
Three things you should understand about AI output, because they are true of every tool of this kind:
- It may not be unique. Someone else giving a similar description may receive something similar. We cannot and do not promise exclusivity.
- We cannot warrant it is free of third-party rights. AI models are trained on large bodies of material. Before using something commercially — particularly anything resembling a real brand, person or existing work — satisfy yourself that you are entitled to.
- Some platforms require AI disclosure. Meeting those rules where you post is your responsibility.
What we provide
We work to keep StoryMint available and working properly, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
The underlying AI models are Google’s, and they change. Models are retired and replaced, and results vary between them. We may change which models StoryMint uses in order to keep it working or to improve it. What a plan costs and how many credits it includes will not change without notice.
We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use StoryMint after that means you accept the change.
Ending it
You can stop using StoryMint at any time, cancel your subscription through Apple, and ask us to delete your account — see the privacy policy.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering StoryMint. If we close your account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund any unused subscription time you have paid for.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — that digital content is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described — are unaffected.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:
- StoryMint is provided as it is, and we give no warranty that generated content will be accurate, suitable, unique or fit for any particular use.
- We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using StoryMint.
- Our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
If you use StoryMint for business rather than as a consumer, you accept that the consumer protections above do not apply to you, and our liability to you is limited as set out in this section.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and the courts of Northern Ireland have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your own country’s courts.
