No. Tap Continue without an account and you can start immediately — StoryMint creates one quietly in the background so your work has somewhere to live.

It's worth attaching Sign in with Apple from Settings before long, though. Without it, your work and your credits are tied to that one device, and there is no way to recover them if you lose it.

Pack credits never expire and are not cleared when your plan renews.

On a monthly plan, no — the allowance resets to your plan's amount each month rather than accumulating.

On a yearly plan the whole year's credits are granted at the start, so they sit on your balance until you spend them.

Credits from a top-up pack never expire.

You keep them. Cancelling stops the renewal; it does not confiscate what you already paid for. You can carry on spending the balance until it runs out.

Through Apple, not through us — that is how all App Store subscriptions work. On your device: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → StoryMint, or open Manage subscription.

Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.

App Store purchases are refunded by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot process them ourselves.

If something is actually broken, though, please tell us — that is ours to fix.

The credits work identically. Pro spends them on higher-quality image models — so a Pro credit buys a better image, not more images.

StoryMint generates the slides as separate images, because that is what Instagram, LinkedIn and the rest expect you to upload. It does not post for you.

1. On the review screen, tap Save to Photos. Slides are written in order, slide 1 first, so they land in your camera roll in posting order.
2. Open the app you're posting to and start a carousel or multi-image post.
3. Select the slides in order. Most apps number your selections as you tap, so you can check before posting.

Deliberately. Image models render text badly — misspelt words, invented letterforms — so StoryMint tells the model not to draw any.

Add your text afterwards with the editor, where it will be sharp, correctly spelt, and in the font you chose.

Four, six or eight seconds, in 16:9 or 9:16, with sound generated alongside the picture.

You are not stuck with that shape: the editor reframes to 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 or 16:9, so a landscape clip becomes a Story without regenerating anything.

Yes, and it costs nothing. Choose Import from Photos instead of generating. You get the same text, sticker and editing tools.

AI refinement of an imported photo does cost 1 credit, since that runs a model.

No. Trim, crop, text overlays, audio, stickers, undo — all free, as many times as you like. Only generating something new costs a credit.

Editing is also non-destructive: an edit saves as a new video and your original is kept.

No. A failed generation returns the credit automatically — you are never charged for something you did not receive. If your balance looks wrong, pull down to refresh, and tell us if it still does.

The underlying model declined the request. The filters are Google's and they are not always predictable; ordinary prompts occasionally trip them, particularly around real people, brands, weapons or medical imagery.

Rephrasing usually works. The credit is returned either way.

Generation runs on our servers, so check your connection first. If a job seems stuck, leave the app — it carries on in the background and notifies you when it's done. Anything genuinely stuck is swept and refunded automatically.

Saved work is tied to your account. If you started anonymously and then reinstalled the app or switched device without attaching Sign in with Apple, the old account cannot be recovered.

Otherwise, check you are signed in as the same account and get in touch.

Settings → Delete Account. You'll see exactly what's being removed and have to confirm before anything happens.

It erases every saved image and video, your brand profile, your library and calendar, any credits you have left, and the account itself. It is immediate and cannot be undone.

Cancel your subscription first. Deleting the account doesn't stop the billing — Apple handles that, and we can't cancel it for you. Do it at Manage subscription, then delete.

The microphone is only for recording a voiceover onto a video. The photo library is for importing pictures you choose and for saving finished work back out.

Nothing is read in the background, and you can refuse either and still use everything else.

It does — the "your image is ready" notification quotes the start of your prompt so you know which one finished. On a lock screen, someone else could read it.

To stop that, set Settings → Notifications → Show Previews to When Unlocked, or turn StoryMint's notifications off.
